Callum Will Build This V12 Wagon If Your Wallet Survives The Shock

  • Callum’s concept transforms a Vanquish into a rare, hand-built V12 Shooting Brake.
  • Features a panoramic glass roof, bespoke wheels, and an upgraded braking system.
  • An enhanced V12 would produce around 580 horsepower, paired with stiffer suspension.

Shooting Brakes are among the sexiest of all vehicle body styles, but sadly, they remain a rare sight on the road. However, if you’re a millionaire or better yet, a billionaire with a penchant for these sleek, two-door wagons, then Ian Callum may just have the perfect vehicle for you.

Callum, a designer with an impressive résumé spanning Aston Martin, Ford, and Jaguar Land Rover, now heads his own independent firm. His portfolio already includes a range of eye-catching creations, from reimagined classic Minis to a modernized interpretation of the iconic Jaguar E-Type revealed earlier this year. His latest undertaking reimagines the 2001 Aston Martin Vanquish as a distinctive shooting brake.

While it’s only been presented as a design concept, the Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake could morph into a production model, should anyone be willing to fork over an inevitably hefty sum to order one. The car looks sensational.

Refined styling cues

The standard Vanquish of this era is quite the looker, but it does look a little bug-eyed, and certainly isn’t as timeless as something like the DB9. While morphing it into a Shooting Brake, Ian Callum has made some changes to the car’s front fascia, adding a larger secondary grille and new air intakes where the original fog lights once sat.

New headlights have also been installed, complete with DRLs, and accompanied by an aggressive new hood. Overhead, the factory roof gives way to a sweeping panel of panoramic glass that extends to a subtly raised rear, forming the unmistakable shooting brake silhouette. Completing the exterior are black and silver alloy wheels, smoked taillights, and a redesigned rear diffuser.

Under the hood, the study imagines an upgraded 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12, featuring a carbon fiber intake, revised camshafts, and updated engine mapping to produce an additional 60 horsepower, bringing the total to 580.

The chassis would benefit from Bilstein dampers, carbon ceramic brakes, a wider track, and stiffer sway bars, all aimed at sharpening handling without compromising the Vanquish’s grand touring character.

It will only happen if you pay for it

For now, the Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake is just a very expensive daydream. Callum says he’ll happily build one if someone steps up with the cash, and given its mix of rarity, performance, and detailing, it’s the sort of temptation that could have collectors measuring the spare bay in their garage.
