Stellantis’ Secretive Concept Wants To Push Hot Opel EVs Into A New Era

  • Opel teased a new GSE concept set for a debut at the IAA Mobility Show in September.
  • It features a racing cockpit, roll cage, and aerodynamic design inspired by vintage rally cars.
  • The concept will preview styling and tech for upcoming production high-performance EVs.

A new chapter for Opel’s performance arm is about to take shape. The company has refreshed its GSE sub-brand, and to mark the occasion it’s preparing a show car that embodies its new vision. Official teasers give us a glimpse of the unnamed concept ahead of its debut at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich next month.

Highlights include the latest evolution of the Opel Compass lighting signature, with vertical and horizontal LED strips framing illuminated emblems at the front and rear. The exterior wears a distinctive livery pairing silver paint with lime yellow accents, complemented by aerodynamic wheels inspired by the Manta 400 rally car of the 1980s.

Built for the track

Inside, there is a futuristic yoke inspired by racing, and a lightweight driver’s seat. The concept is also equipped with a roll cage, which shows that it is designed for the track.
