2026 model year Avatr 07 launched in China for 31,910 USD

The 2026 model year Avatr 07 from Changan, Huawei, and CATL was launched in China with a starting price of 219,900 yuan (31,910 USD) before discounts. While maintaining the price, the updated model’s equipment was enhanced. The Avatr 07 is available with BEV and EREV powertrain variants.

Avatr is a high-end electric brand created jointly by Changan, CATL, and Huawei. It started domestic sales in 2022. The brand’s current model line comprises four vehicles: the 11 fastback crossover, the 12 liftback, the 06 sedan, and the 07 SUV. The latter model got the 2026 model year update in China.

More about the updated Avatr 07

The updated Avatr 07 aligns with the design language of the outgoing model. It has a two-storey running lights and headlamps integrated into the front bumper. This SUV adopts a sloped bonnet line, a LiDAR sensor on the roof, retractable door handles, and two thin taillight units. An interactive Halo screen, positioned between the windshield and the bonnet, became a distinguishing feature of the 07 SUV.

Dimensions of the Avatr 07 are 4825/1980/1610 mm with a wheelbase of 2,940 mm. It is available with R20 and R21 wheels. The Avatr 07 has a drag coefficient of 0.259 Cd. For clarity, the Tesla Model Y boasts a seemingly lower number of 0,220 Cd. The lower drag translates into quieter rides and lower energy consumption on highways.

Interior of the 2026 model year Avatr 07 got a new light-brown color scheme. The car adopts a large 35.4-inch 4K screen sitting on the center console. There is also a 15.6-inch monitor for the driver, powered by HarmonyOS 5 from Huawei. The Avatr 07 comes standard with 25 speakers (Meridian sound system), a digital rearview mirror, and front seats with a zero-gravity function. The updated SUV could be optionally equipped with a 4-liter fridge.

The Avatr 07 supports the ADS 4 driver assistance system from Huawei. It can realize the Navigate On Autopilot (NOA) function on highways and urban roads, and perform autonomous parking. Additionally, the vehicle can stop at a maximum speed of 130 km/h upon activation of automatic emergency braking. The 2026 model year Avatr 07 also has a reworked suspension system.

Powertrain and prices

The EREV variant of the Avatr 07 has a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine under the hood. It acts as a generator without transferring any torque to the wheels. Instead, it sends power to the electric motors and the battery. The RWD variant of the Avatr 07 BEV offers a single e-motor for 231 kW (310 hp). The 4WD variant adds a 131-kW (176 hp) motor in the front, bringing the combined output to 362 kW (485 hp). Two CATL-made LFP Freevoy battery options for 39 kWh and 52 kWh are available. The BEV range is 245 – 333 km under CLTC conditions. The mixed range is 1,115 – 1,200 km.

The all-electric variant of the Avatr 07 comes standard with an 82.2 kWh LFP Shenxing pack from CATL. The RWD variant of the model provides a peak power of 252 kW (338 hp). The more powerful 4WD variant offers 440 kW (590 hp). The 07 BEV’s range lies between 610 and 650 km, depending on the drive type.

The Avatr 07 costs 219,900 – 279,900 yuan (31,910 – 39,350 USD) before discounts in China. It is a direct competitor of such models as the Li Auto L6 and the Aito M7. Trims and prices are as follows.
