Saic (or Shangjie in Chinese) is a joint venture between SAIC and Huawei under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), also Huawei’s fifth after Aito, Stelato, Luxeed, and Maextro.

Built based on SAIC’s Roewe ES39, the Saic H5 measures 4780/1910/1664 mm (l/w/h), with a 2840 mm wheelbase.

The front trunk has a standard volume of 124L and the rear trunk has 601L, which can fit one 28-inch suitcase, one 26-inch suitcase, two 20-inch suitcases, two tote bags, and a full camping gear set.

The high-end trims are equipped with a 192-line roof-mounted lidar, three 4D millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 11 high-definition cameras to support the Huawei Qiankun ADS 4.0. The official claimed the Saic H5 has “the only end-to-end navigation assistance system in its class,” and also provides forward, rear, and side collision avoidance.

Both EREV and BEV variants are offered. The EREV is equipped with an 72 kW (97 hp) 1.5L engine (model 15FMC) as the range extender, a 150 kW (201 hp) electric motor, and a 32.6 kWh battery pack. The CLTC pure electric range is 235 km and the combined range is 1,360 km.

The BEV is powered by a 150 kW or 180 kW (241 hp) electric motor, matched with either 64.6 kWh or 80 kWh battery pack, depending on the trims. The 64.6 kWh version corresponds to a CLTC pure electric range of 525 km and 535 km, while the 80 kWh corresponds to 640 km and 655 km.
