Chery’s new large SUV brings Horizon 6P ADAS and 5-second acceleration

Chery confirmed that its new large five-seat SUV, the Fulwin T9L, will enter the Chinese market between March and April 2026, as reported by IT-home. The vehicle was unveiled at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show, where company executives described it as a “smart and beautiful large five-seat SUV.” The model is positioned under Chery’s Fulwin sub-brand, which has been expanding its presence in the hybrid and electric segments throughout 2025.

The T9L adopts Chery’s “Eastern calligraphy” design language. At the front, it features a clean, minimalist face with a closed grille, narrow headlights, large side air vents on the front bumper, and a trapezoidal lower intake. The roof integrates LiDAR into the Falcon 700+ intelligent driving system. The side profile is streamlined, with semi-hidden door handles, while the rear features a simple design with a full-width taillight and a slightly upturned spoiler. Dimensions are 4,870 millimetres in length, 1,930 millimetres in width, 1,710 millimetres in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 millimetres and 1,037 millimetres of second-row legroom.

Fulwin T9L debuted at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show.

Under the hood, the T9L is built on Chery’s Kunpeng plug-in hybrid CDM architecture, paired with the DHT260 ultra-hybrid transmission, producing a combined output of 260 kW and 330 N·m of torque. The all-wheel-drive version is estimated to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in the 5-second range, with a top speed of 240 km/h. Chery reports a thermal efficiency of 45.79 per cent for the hybrid engine. The Falcon 700+ system, powered by Horizon Robotics’ Journey 6P chip and HSD software, is designed to manage complex traffic scenarios, including unexpected pedestrian movements and construction zones, and employs defensive-driving strategies that proactively reduce speed when risks are detected.

Inside, the Fulwin T9L features the Lingxi Smart Cockpit 2.0, built around a 3-nanometer flagship cabin chip. The interior includes a full LCD instrument panel, a large central touchscreen, wireless phone charging, a 17.3-inch 2.5K iMax rear display, zero-gravity front seats, an onboard refrigerator capable of –6 °C to 50 °C, and a 23-speaker Yangboya audio system.

Horizon Journey 6P powers the SUV’s Falcon 700+ driver-assist system.

The launch of the Fulwin T9L complements the sub-brand’s growing lineup, which includes the Fulwin E06 SUV and the Fulwin A9L sedan, the latter receiving over 50,000 orders within the first 24 hours of its global debut. Upcoming models, such as the T11 extended-range SUV, aim to expand the brand’s presence across multiple segments and price points.

The release comes amid strong performance for Chery Group. From January to October 2025, the company sold 2.01 million vehicles globally, a 14.5% year-on-year increase. New energy vehicles accounted for 587,545 units, up 77.1% from the same period last year. In October alone, Chery recorded 281,161 sales, including 110,346 NEVs, marking its highest monthly NEV performance to date. The group also exported 1.06 million vehicles during the first ten months of 2025, maintaining its position as China’s largest passenger-vehicle exporter.
