Chery Jetour Zongheng F700 pickup spied, rival to GWM Cannon pickup

Leaked images from Chery’s Jetour brand show the Zongheng F700 pickup, offering an early look at the Chinese automaker’s upcoming off-road model. Positioned as a rugged counterpart to the Zongheng G700 SUV, the F700 retains Jetour’s square-edged design language while reportedly featuring a plug-in hybrid system, as reported by Autohome. However, exact specifications have not been confirmed.

The exterior closely mirrors the G700, with rectangular LED daytime running lights and a prominent grille likely displaying the Jetour logo. Off-road–oriented bumpers with large approach angles and a robust rear end with polygonal taillights give the vehicle a rugged appearance. The elevated stance and pronounced overhangs suggest potential off-road capability, putting the F700 in competition with domestic pickups such as the GWM Cannon.

Inside, the F700 appears to follow the G700’s cabin layout, emphasising a squared-off design that conveys solidity. Technology elements reportedly include a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen and a 35.4-inch panoramic display spanning the dashboard, combining instrument cluster and infotainment functions. The interior seems aimed at balancing a rugged design with modern digital interfaces.

Based on leaked information, the F700 may use Jetour’s Kunpeng CDM-O plug-in hybrid system, potentially combining a 2.0TD engine with multiple electric motors. Speculative reports suggest power output could be significant, with a dual-layer battery capable of fast charging, though Chery has confirmed none of these figures. Similarly, pricing has been estimated at around 46,300 USD, but this remains unverified.

The leaked images and information suggest that the F700 will compete in the Chinese pickup market, combining an off-road-oriented design with hybrid technology. If the powertrain and features align with the G700’s PHEV capabilities, the F700 could represent an ambitious entry for Chery’s Jetour brand, leveraging hybrid technology while targeting buyers seeking utility and modern digital features in a pickup.
