One Of Ford’s Hottest Sellers Just Crashed In July

  • Bronco Sport dipped in July despite strong sales through the first seven months.
  • Larger SUVs like Bronco, Explorer, and Expedition posted double-digit gains.
  • Lincoln’s Aviator soared in July while Corsair and Nautilus struggled to gain ground.

The Ford Bronco Sport might not be as capable as its larger sibling, but it’s selling well this year. Through July, it’s up 13.9 percent with 83,376 sales so far in 2025. That’s a solid boost considering it sold 73,203 by the same time last year. It’s also why it’s so shocking that it just had an atrocious July.

});

It’s not like it just struggled to sell ‘as well’ as it has all year long. It wasn’t even flat for the month. Instead, it was an 18.7 percent dip compared to sales in July of 2024. More specifically, Ford sold 10,938 Bronco Sports after selling 13,449 in July last year. No other Ford, save for ones that are out of production, saw such a dent in sales.

In fact, the only other mainstream Ford product with a dip in sales was the Maverick. Every other model saw an increase. Large SUVs led the charge. Explorer was up 46.2 percent during the month with 18,837 sales. Expedition was up 50.9 percent with 7,518 sales. Bronco was even more impressive with a 55 percent bump from 8,902 sales in July of 2024 to 13,798 sales this year.

That success has been consistent throughout 2025. The big Bronco is up 45 percent this year from 59,054 sales by this point in 2024 to 85,861 so far this year. No doubt, Chevrolet wishes they could say the same about their big boxy off-roaders. Oh, wait, Chevrolet doesn’t really have one of those. That said, not all the SUVs under Ford’s umbrella are killing it.

Lincoln is struggling to sell the Corsair and Nautilus this year. The former was down 16.2 percent for the month and is down 1 percent for the year. The latter, while up 3.3 percent this year, was down 11.5 percent in July. Thankfully for Lincoln, the Aviator had a wildly good July with 1,470 sales. That’s 298.4 percent more than the 369 it had in the same month last year.
