This Glorious Abomination Is Half Hyundai Coupe, Half Honda Bike, And All Insanity

  • A Hyundai Tiburon was turned into a 3-wheeler with a Goldwing motorcycle rear end.
  • It rides on a reinforced tube chassis and keeps the coupe’s original 2.0-liter engine.
  • The custom trike is legally classified as an off-road ATV but can’t be driven on public roads.

Once an accessible option in the compact sports coupe market, the Tiburon quietly exited the scene to make room for the Veloster, before Hyundai eventually stepped away from the segment entirely. While the Tiburon has largely faded into obscurity, every now and then one resurfaces with a twist. And this latest example from Canada pushes the envelope further than most.

At first glance, the front end appears to be a typical 2001 Hyundai Tiburon in bright yellow. But that impression quickly fades. The rest of the body has been removed, replaced with the rear section of a Honda Goldwing motorcycle mounted on a reinforced tube chassis. The result is part car, part trike, and completely unexpected.

A Surprising Transformation

The resulting tricycle has a two-seater saddle and a car-derived steering wheel. According to the owner, the donor vehicle was purchased new in 2001 and wasn’t used much before the transformation took place. He claims that “several hundred hours and thousands of dollars” have been invested in this project, with the welding being professionally done.

It is not clear whether the Hyundai was involved in an accident, but the naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter engine and the automatic transmission are allegedly in “impeccable” condition. Furthermore, the headlights, turn signals, radio, mirrors, and heating are fully operational.

Registered as an off-road ATV, this Tiburon-Goldwing hybrid is no longer considered street legal. That said, it can still be driven on private property, offering a novelty factor that’s hard to ignore.

As for performance, the stock 2.0-liter engine was good for 140 hp (104 kW / 142 PS) and 180 Nm (133 lb-ft) of torque, which is not bad for a three-wheeler motorcycle. The only problem is that the shortened wheelbase and the single wheel at the back will certainly have a toll on handling.

The one-of-a-kind Hyundai-Goldwing hybrid is currently listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace with an asking price of $4,500. The seller is also open to trades involving other vehicles. For those interested, the three-wheeler is located in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, a city in southwestern Quebec. You can check it out here.
