You Could Get A BMW X5 Or Spend The Same On GMC’s Flagship Acadia

  • GMC’s Acadia Denali Ultimate is $7,200 more expensive than the regular Denali.
  • The SUV includes Super Cruise, 16-speaker Bose audio, and 22-inch wheels.
  • Under the hood is a 2.5L turbo-four producing 328 hp, same as cheaper trims.

How much would you pay for a family SUV with luxury leanings and a GMC badge on the grille? GM is betting that the answer is somewhere north of $64,000, positioning its latest Acadia in the same pricing neighborhood as some European premium models.

In its top-tier Denali Ultimate trim, the new Acadia is now the most expensive version the brand has ever sold, and unlike many high-end vehicles, it currently comes without any major discounts or incentives.

Introduced just a few weeks ago, the Acadia Denali Ultimate builds on the already-respectable base model with a collection of upscale features, both inside and out. While GM has already released pricing details, updated order guide data confirms that the model starts at $62,900 before destination charges. Once the $1,895 delivery fee is included, the total climbs to $64,795.

That’s a heck of a lot of money, particularly when you consider the base model is sold in front-wheel drive configuration only. Those who want their luxury SUV with all-wheel drive will need to pay an extra $2,000.

Climbing the Price Ladder

As noted by CarsDirect, the Denali Ultimate is an eye-popping $7,200 more expensive than the lesser Acadia Denali. It’s also $19,200 more expensive than the entry-level Acadia Elevation and more than $12,000 pricier than the Ford Explorer Platinum.

Luxury Rivals

To put this new model’s price into perspective, it’s possible to pick up a 2025 BMW X5 sDrive40i for $67,600. Admittedly, it’s only sold as a five-seater whereas the GMC offers seating for six. Car shoppers who require a vehicle with three rows and around $65,000 to spend can opt for one of the higher-end Lexus TX 350 models, such as the Luxury AWD or F Sport Handling AWD.

What features does the Acadia Denali Ultimate have to justify its price? Well, it includes newly-upholstered seats, Super Cruise, an 8-inch head-up display, a 16-speaker Bose audio system, 22-inch aluminum wheels, and LED daytime running lights.

Power is provided by the same engine as lesser models, consisting of a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder delivering 328 hp and 326 lb-ft (442 Nm).

For shoppers exploring luxury SUVs in this price range, the Acadia Denali Ultimate offers plenty of features, but it faces an uphill battle convincing buyers who are drawn to more established premium badges.
