Chery’s Jetour Shanhai L7 Plus with a combined range of 1,700 km to start pre-sale August 18

Jetour, a sub-brand of Chery, is set to launch its new Shanhai L7 Plus mid-size SUV, with pre-sales commencing on August 18th, followed by its official market debut at the Chengdu Auto Show later this August. Positioned as a versatile family vehicle, the Shanhai L7 Plus will be available in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations. The new SUV is expected to be priced under 200,000 yuan (28,000 USD).

The Shanhai L7 Plus features an all-new design language. The front fascia is dominated by a continuous light strip, flanked by distinctive “J”-shaped headlights that cleverly echo the “J” in the Jetour brand logo. Below, a trapezoidal air intake is complemented by air ducts on either side.

In terms of dimensions, the SUV measures 4810mm in length, 1930mm in width, and 1705mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2820mm. Customers will have a choice of 19-inch or 20-inch wheels. The rear design continues the theme with a full-width taillight that subtly forms a “T” shape, referencing the “T” in the Jetour brand.

Inside, the cabin features a three-spoke steering wheel. A 15.6-inch central control screen supports a 10-degree intelligent left-right swivel function. The cockpit is powered by the Tour OS 3.0 intelligent AI system, which includes a built-in large language model for voice commands. Additionally, the vehicle is expected to come equipped with a 12-speaker audio system.

The 7-seater layout features all-electric adjustable seats that can be folded down with a single button to create a nearly 3-meter-long “big bed.”

Under the hood, the Shanhai L7 Plus will be powered by a plug-in hybrid system combining a 1.5T engine with an electric motor. The engine delivers a maximum power output of 115 kW (154 hp), while the combined system output reaches 265 kW (355 hp) with a peak torque of 530 Nm. The power battery has a capacity of 32.659kWh, providing a pure electric range of 167km. Fuel consumption is rated at 5.25L/100km, and the combined range can extend up to 1700km.
