Immediately followed the official debut and pre-sale opening of Xpeng’s new P7 all-electric sedan in China on August 6, more than 10,000 orders were received in just 6 minutes and 37 seconds. The new car is available in 820 km ultra-long-range, 750 km high-performance, and 702 km long-range versions.
Consumers can place an order by paying a 99 yuan (14 USD) deposit, which can later be used to offset a 3,000 yuan (418 USD) purchase price. The official launch is scheduled for later this month and the pre-sale price range was not announced at the debut.

Six exterior paints are offered: silver, yellow, green, purple, gray, and blue. Xpeng claimed that the vehicle paint has a 70 μm clearcoat thickness.

In the front, the new Xpeng P7 adopts the automaker’s Xmart Face design language, in which a horizontal light strip is paired with vertical light clusters on both sides to form an H-shaped design.

In the rear, the taillight design resembles the same H shape. A small blue light is located on the rear bumper to indicate advanced driving assistance capabilities.

The side retains the fastback profile, combined with hidden door handles and X-shape rims that echo Xpeng’s brand logo, contributing to a drag coeffcient of 0.201 Cd. The roofline also starts to slope downward in between the A and B pillars.

The body dimensions measure 5017/1970/1427 mm (l/w/h), and the wheelbase is 3008 mm.

Additionally, the entire series is equipped with three in-house developed Turing AI chips. Two of these chips power the advanced driving VLA (Very Intelligent Driving) model. The third chip, in conjunction with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, powers the intelligent cabin VLM (Very Intelligent Cabin) model.

The cockpit is minimalistic and integrates a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, an 87-inch panoramic AR-HUD, an instrument panel, and a 15.6-inch central control screen. In particular, the central control screen has a swing range of 25° left and right and 25° up and down. It can respond to voice and gesture commands.
External audio is also present to support the vehicle voice control system.

Rear passengers have access to an 8-inch entertainment screen behind the center console. The rear seat has a backrest angle of 30°.

Both RWD and AWD are offered, and sit on an 800V high-voltage platform. The RWD is equipped with a 270 kW (362 hp) electric motor, and matched with either 74.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate or 92.2 kWh ternary lithium battery pack. The AWD is powered by an additional 167 kW front e-motor, and matched with 92.2 kWh ternary lithium battery, bringing the total system power to 437 kW (586 hp). The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is 3.7 seconds and the top speed is 230 km/h.
Furthermore, all battery packs support 5C fast-charging, in which a 10-minute charge can achieve 525 km of range.
