Huawei Qiankun ADS reached 1 million vehicle installation milestone

On August 12, Huawei announced that its Qiankun ADS advanced driving assistance system has been installed on over one million vehicles across more than 22 models as of August 7. The number of active users has surpassed 700,000 with a cumulative mileage of more than 4 billion kilometers as of the end of July.

In particular, in July alone, the average assisted driving mileage per user using the Huawei ADS was 699 km, which is two to four times the industry average in China, according to Huawei. The models equipped with the Huawei ADS include the FAW-Audi Q6L e-tron, Aito M9, Deepal S09, Deepal S07, Voyah Free+, and Fang Cheng Bao Bao 5, just to name a few.

About Huawei ADS

In April 2024, Huawei launched the Qiankun ADS, which, together with the Harmony Cockpit system, became the two core pieces of Huawei’s intelligent vehicle solutions.

Later, Huawei launched its latest generation of the Qiankun ADS 4.0 in April this year, comprised of four tiers:

  • Tier 1 ADS SE: provides basic active safety, parking assistance, high-speed cruise control, and urban lane center control for entry-level models.
  • Tier 2 ADS Pro: comes with an additional in-cabin laser vision sensor and provides enhanced active safety functions on top of the tier 1 baseline.
  • Tier 3 ADS Max: built on top of tier 2, comes with an ultra-long-range lidar as well as optional millimeter-wave radar and solid-state lidar to support enhanced parking assist functions such as valet parking assist and end to end parking spot to parking spot assist for high-end models
  • Tier four ADS Ultra flagship: equipped with high-speed Level 3 conditional autonomous driving capabilities for flagship models.

More specifically, some of the active safety functions include forward automatic emergency braking that is activated from a vehicle speed range of 4 to 150 km/h, with a maximum braking speed of 130 km/h. Side collision avoidance is activated at a vehicle speed range of 30 to 130 km/h.
