  • Amalgam will build just 199 Coupes and 199 Spiders of its 1:8 scale Valkyrie.
  • Each model takes more than 300 hours to assemble using real Aston paint and leather.
  • Those willing to splurge $27,860 can order a Valkyrie model with a bespoke finish.

Aston Martin didn’t need to build the Valkyrie. It could have moseyed along selling sports cars, GTs, and SUVs, leaving industry-shifting hypercars to the likes of Koenigsegg, McLaren, Porsche, and others. However, we’re delighted Aston did build the Valkyrie, and now those who missed out on buying one can get the next best thing – a detailed scale model of the V12-powered monster from Amalgam.

Sadly, this is not the kind of model you’ll find in your local Walmart, nor is it one you can assemble from Lego. Nope, that’s not how Amalgam rolls. Instead, the brand specializes in high-end, intricate scale models that are the spitting image of the cars that have inspired them, albeit on a smaller scale. As such, the Valkyrie 1:8 model isn’t cheap.

Limited Run, Serious Price

Amalgam plans to assemble 199 Coupes and 199 Spiders. The standard model, known as the Limited Edition, is priced from £14,740 or $19,900, while one-off Bespoke Editions for the Coupe and Spider will each cost £20,640 or $27,860.

Yes, you could buy a Ford Maverick for about the same, or for a tiny bit more, a new base Mazda MX-5 – and certainly a used Miata or GR 86. But honestly, where’s the glorious absurdity in driving something practical when you could own a 22-inch Valkyrie shrine for your coffee table?

Built Like The Real Thing

All of the standard Limited Edition models are painted in the same shade of Podium Green, whereas the Bespoke versions can be commissioned to match the finish of some of the more wild, full-scale Valkyries currently in collections around the world.

To create the 1:8 scale models, Amalgam uses original CAD designs, paint codes, castings, and CNC-machined materials. Each model is 22 inches (56 cm) long and takes more than 300 hours to assemble. It took Amalgam over 3,000 hours to develop the model in partnership with the British automaker.

For collectors who want more than a standard piece, Amalgam offers full customisation. “We source every technical detail directly from Aston Martin, including authentic paint sample cards and leather swatches, ensuring absolute accuracy,” founder Sandy Copeman explained. Each commission comes with Aston Martin’s own seal of approval. Makes sense. If you’re already spending nearly thirty grand on a model car, you might as well make sure the stitching matches your imaginary garage.
