New Lexus ES Looks Great But This F-Sport Render Looks Even Better

  • Render imagines Lexus ES as F-Sport with bigger grille and lower stance.
  • Design draws inspiration from the current IS F-Sport performance sedan.
  • Lexus confirmed ES will offer hybrid and electric powertrain options globally.

The eighth-generation Lexus ES takes a noticeable step away from its predecessors, adopting a sharper, more contemporary exterior and a cabin that feels carefully modeled on the interiors of China’s new wave of EVs. It certainly looks more modern, but that raises a natural question: could the design be pushed further?

});

Eager to put that to the test, digital artist Theottle has reimagined the new ES with a sporty edge, dressing it in virtual F-Sport guise inspired by the latest Lexus IS F-Sport. The outgoing ES was offered with an F-Sport package, so the rendering hints at what a similar trim could look like if Lexus brings it back this time around.

In rendering the model, Theottle overhauled the front fascia, ditching the small lower front grille that’s fitted as standard in favor of a much larger, and significantly more aggressive grille, just like the one found on the new IS. While we think this grille is a little too large, it is complemented by some edgy bumper elements, giving the sedan a much more striking look.

Elsewhere, the ride height has been slightly dropped and it now sits on a new set of wheels. Several changes have also been made to the rear of the ES. They include the fitment of a new bumper with a gloss black diffuser, chrome-finished dual tailpipes, and a large black lip spoiler on the tailgate, parts also borrowed from the new IS F Sport.

Powertrain Lineup

Away from renderings and speculation, Lexus has confirmed that the new 2026 ES will launch in both self-charging hybrid and fully electric forms. The 2026 range starts with the ES 350h, powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid producing 243 hp. It will be offered in both front- and all-wheel-drive configurations, with Lexus estimating that the AWD version can sprint from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 7.2 seconds.

On the electric side, two options are planned. The lineup begins with the ES 350e, a front-wheel drive model using a single motor rated at 221 hp and paired with a 77 kWh battery. Fitted with the smaller 19-inch wheels, it should deliver an estimated 300 miles (483 km) of range.

Those wanting more performance can step up to the dual-motor ES 500e that produces 338 hp and is equipped with a slightly smaller 75 kWh battery pack. This version trims about 50 miles from the maximum range, leaving it with a range of roughly 250 miles (402 km).
